I believe Design is a social responsibility.

Designers get trained for years on rhetorical communication which is primarily based on the study of influence others. They way designers see the world, can be the way million of people will see it.

Thoughtful design contributes to improving human well-being and livelihood, but thoughtfulness is a quality that comes from the hearth with the best of intentions in mind and it is not something that we can simply apply to a process.

I want to help young designers and the community to understand that design can be a human-centered mission, a framework to solve users’ problems and make their life better.

What’s better than an event where people, of every age and culture, use creative processes to launch a start-up?

Startup Weekend is a 54 hour event that brings together Wellington designers, developers, entrepreneurs, and experts from all domains to do amazing things. I’m one of the organiser and mentor.
